Turn Prospects Into Customers
How well-trained are your people?
You’ve spent all of this money on advertising, but your employees can’t sell water to a thirsty man in the desert. I am amazed at how many times I have responded to an ad, and the employees know nothing about it.
Can you imagine spending a lot of money on an ad that gets a prospect to call, and you didn’t even bother to tell your employees about the ad?
All of your employees have to know what’s going on.
All your employees need some sales training; some employees need a lot of sales training.
Yes, I even think the janitor needs some sales training, why you ask. Because people will ask the janitor where he works, and he’ll tell them. Then they will ask, “What do they do?” This may or may not be a sales opportunity, but you never know where that information will go. Train your people what to say and how to say it.
If you are going to spend it on the front end (advertising) and flush it down the drain on the back end, why bother at all?
If you run a one or two-person business, this goes back to what I said in the beginning: you need to understand everything you can about sales and marketing.
There are hundreds of books, courses, and seminars on selling that you could apply to your business, but you have to take action.
At least learn the basics of sales.
