I started in sales when I was eleven years old, selling candy for my Boy Scout troop. I sold 300 boxes of White Almond Bark. I won an award from Fanny Farmer and made some money.
The rest of my sales career is a long story I can tell you later.
I got interested in marketing in 1988. A letter I received from Jay Abraham blew me away. He was selling a book named “Mr. X.” At the time it cost $400! I thought a dollar a page was wild, but he guaranteed it, so I bought it.
I had always been in sales, but now it included marketing. They have both been my passions ever since.
Of course, I’ve purchased a lot of information since. I think my current library is worth around $147,000.00.
In my career, I have been a salesman, area sales manager, regional sales manager, national sales manager, and national sales and marketing manager.
This all led to my business in 1995, Guaranteed Success Sales and Marketing, which is how I helped small businesses… Attract, convert, and keep my customers.
I’m 71 years old and decided to write a blog to share my experience.
